Give us two sentences about yourself?

Wacky with a warped sense of humour, Caring, thoughtful and generous and love to help people.

What was your first job? What did you learn financially?

My first job was a typist clerk with a sporting goods firm at the age of 16. I learnt to just keep saving to buy the things that are important to you, e.g. saving for a trip.

What do you do for work now?

I work for SA in Home Care and I am a carer/support worker for people with disabilities. I love it and have been in this line of work for 10 years. Best thing about this job is the rapport that I have with my clients. I have been with one client for 7 years and I love him like my own son.

Your best money saving tip

Check out catalogues or online and buy in BULK especially in the supermarkets. If you know the full price of goods and you see it on special then you can easily work out how much you have saved. Also I get great bargains on eBay!

Money spender or money saver?

I must admit I am a spender, but the amount of money I have saved over the years is unbelievable. I do also have money put aside for a rainy day.

You’ve just been given $50,000 – what would you do with it?

Treat my (adult) kids to a night at the movies in Gold Class and have a meal afterwards. Then save the rest and earn a bit of interest which will help towards Christmas Day.
